Let me start off by clearly stating, I AM NOT A HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTER. Now that we have that out of the way, I can get to the reason for this article. No, I do not like Clinton as a Presidential Candidate; I don't like the things she's done, nor do I think she'll make a good President. Throughout this entire election, I've been wishing and praying that these two nominees were a joke, and Ashton Kutcher was going to come out with all the camera's saying, "America, you've been Punk'd," but unfortunately this has become our reality. Now if you know me, you probably also know how much I despise Donald Trump. I don't normally "hate" people, but I think that's the only appropriate word to describe how I feel about him. So no, I don't like Hillary Clinton, but I will do everything within my Constitutional right to make damn sure that Donald Trump is not our next president and here's why:

1. Donald Trump is short - tempered

If you've watched any of the debates during this election then you know exactly what I am talking about. Sometimes it looked as if there was a silver lining and Trump was actually discussing important issues with decent arguments, but then Clinton or the moderator would bring up a topic that would get him all fired up. He is constantly on the defense. Just the other night he used the comeback of a 5 year old when Clinton said he would be a puppet to Putin. If you didn't watch the debate, he literally came back at Clinton with "No, you're the puppet." Nice one Donald. If someone pisses Trump off, he immediately says he'll sue them, or throws some insult at them. He can't even go five minutes with interrupting Clinton and the moderators, or throwing a tantrum like a child. I'm sorry, but I don't want someone like that to become one of the "most powerful" people in the world. Nor do I want someone who is far too quick to react, to have the 2nd largest military at his disposal. If he's elected and a foreign leader pisses him off, I am way too afraid his first thought will be war. We need a President that is level - headed, and makes rational decisions under pressure. Trump is not that person.

2. I have the same political experience as Donald Trump (aka NONE)

I was all for the idea of having a candidate that wasn't a career politician, and it sounds really good in theory, but in the case of this election, I think it's a terrible idea. I've heard a lot of people say, "I like Trump, he's a businessman" or "Finally, someone who isn't a politician!" People like the idea of someone other than a politician in office because they believe it means the candidate is loyal to the citizens of America, not the people "getting" them into office, nor are they trying to push their own political agenda. It sounds good, but is it practical? In my opinion, not at all. Yes, Clinton is a career politician. Yes, she has a lot of experience in various parts of the government. It may not be the best experience, and everyone who even remotely follows politics knows that there are red flags (yes, I'm talking about the damn emails). BUT SHE HAS EXPERIENCE. She's been Secretary of State, a senator, a lawyer, and a law professor. She's not a dumb person. She understands foreign policy and knows how to work with foreign leaders. As First Lady, she saw what it was like to run a country, to represent all of America. Trump on the contrary, has never held a political office. He's never dealt with foreign affairs, or representing Americans. Would you hire a doctor as your lawyer? Or a computer technician as your plumber? Or a chef as your accountant? None of the above mentioned have experience in the field that you need, if you wouldn't hire them, why would you hire Trump?

3. Donald Trump offends everyone

If you can name a group of people that Trump has yet to offend, I will be extremely impressed. Donald Trump is a racist, rude, arrogant piece of trash and I for one do not want him as the face of America. The things that come out of his mouth dumbfound me. We have enough countries hating us, we don't need more. With Trump being so short-tempered, there's no predicting what he'll say and who it will offend. We need a president that will work on forming better relations with other countries, not someone that will make them worse. We need a president that foreign leaders will actually take seriously, with the things Trump says, who on Earth would take him seriously? I sure don't. I don't want a president that makes fun of the way women look, or people with disabilities. I don't want a president that tells veterans they aren't strong because they suffer from PTSD. I don't want a president that encourages violence when people disagree with his opinions. Our country suffers enough violence, enough disconnect between different groups of people without someone going around and promoting it.

4. Donald Trump wants to ban entire groups of people from our country

I'm going to start off by saying I do agree with stricter immigration laws and I believe in coming into the country legally. I also understand that I was lucky enough to be born in a country that offers me endless opportunity and freedoms, something that most of the people trying to come into out country long for. Our country is known for it's diversity, for it's promise of a better life, that's why people want to come here. The argument that "they're taking all our jobs" is bullshit and anyone who says it knows that. Immigrants aren't taking jobs from actively seeking Americans, they take the jobs that no one else will do. And they're not all rapists, and drug lords, but yes please continue to categorize an entire group of people based on a few. I don't think we should have open borders, but I sure as hell don't think building a wall is a solution. Just as Trump labeled Mexicans as rapists and drug dealers, he's labeled all Muslims as a part of ISIS and wanted a complete shutdown of Muslims entering the US. Trump does realize that our country was founded on religious freedom right? Also I know this is still hard for people to grasp but every group of people: white, black, police officers, politicians, religions, has bad people in it and has good people in it. You cannot blame an entire group of people for the actions of a few. Banning an entire group of people goes against everything this country stands for and represents, and I for one think its insane.

The above are the main reasons why I will be voting for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. I'm not with her, but if Clinton is the only option to make sure Donald Trump doesn't become our next president, then I guess I'm with her.

PSA: Even if you don't agree with me, please go vote!!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
