Being Home For Christmas Break As Told By 'Parks And Rec'

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and because of that, the best show is here to help us explain our feelings about that month back home.

Finals week is hard time for all of us. Necessities like sleep and eating seem to no longer be a priority and you are ready to be home for the holidays.

All you can think about is traveling home, far far away from your responsibilities.

Finally, the time is here. The car is packed and you are ready for a month of guilt free Netflix binging and not having to do your own grocery shopping.

The first few days are spent catching up on the sleep you've missed the past semester.

After you have caught up on doing nothing, you decide it's time to be social and catch up with some friends from high school.

Then you realize you haven't talked to most of them in three years and you'd rather watch Netflix by yourself.

Unfortunately, Netflix watching can be pretty boring when you're not supposed to be studying for a test and your parents don't want to hear your complaining.

You realize that it's only been a week, you've run out of Netflix shows and you really miss your college friends.

You resort to making them talk to you 24/7 so you can pretend you are together.

When that doesn't work, you decide maybe you'll just spend some time with your parents.

After conversations about money, grades and future plans you decide that wasn't your best idea.

You never thought the day would come, but it's finally time to head back to the promised land: full of friends and no one asking you about your relationship status.

Until you realize that means it's time to start a new semester.

Don't worry -- summer will be here before you know it!

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
