Ilana Wexler: The Best Friend I Wish I Had

From the second I started watching Broad City, the single most amazing comedy on broadcast TV right now, I was immediately in love with Ilana. I'm talking a full-blown girl crush. This entailed excessive social media stalking and falling into the deepest YouTube hole I've experienced in a few years. There are so many reasons why this nearly mythical, actually perfect, human has stolen my heart. Here are 10 of them.

1. She would do LITERALLY anything for her best friend

It's pretty evident she's completely in love with her best friend, and co-creator of the show, Abbi Jacobson. When Abbi needs her, she's always there. She's not ashamed of how much she loves her even when she takes it a little too far.

2. She's super down to Earth and accepting of everyone.

She's so not racist to the point where it sometimes becomes a little racist. She loves everyone despite their differences and isn't afraid to show it.

3. She's really progressive.

She sees the world through young and eager eyes and knows which direction our society is headed. She's excited for these transitions and is ready to accept them with open arms.

4. Despite her absence of work ethic, she still has a job.

She's one of the worst employees out there, but she still manages to maintain a place of work. It's really admirable to be able to get paid for doing absolutely nothing.

5. She's had one or two tooth mishaps.

Whether is was a dog bone or a jaw breaker, the details are unimportant. From experience, I'm right with her on the whole chipped-tooth panic and drama. The fact that she's gone through the same pain means we're meant to be.

6. She embraces her body.

Ilana is more than confident with the body she's been given. She's never ashamed of herself and embraces all her imperfections and impurities. She also has a really fresh take on the female reproductive organs.

7. She knows how to pull dudes.

She's mastered the art of going home with a hottie from the bar. Her technique may be a little out of the ordinary, but it definitely works for her. She doesn't even need to say a single word. She's that good.

8. She doesn't sweat the small stuff.

If something doesn't go her way, she never panics. Ilana knows how to keep her cool in the face chaos, which is a pretty important quality for a best friend to have.

9. She knows herself.

When asked, she knows exactly what her flaws and attributes are. She's true to herself and doesn't cut herself down, but also knows what she needs to work on.

10. She keeps it real with the fellas.

She's not one of those clingy girls whose world starts and ends with a guy. She doesn't constantly need a male emotional companion in her life and isn't afraid to tell the boys what's up.

A Deep Dive Into Taylor Swift’s Albums: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Edition
Edited by Hailey Hastings

I am fully emersed into diving deep into every single Taylor Swift album, which I do on my own all the time, but wanted to do it in a way where I am sharing what a special discography she has. I feel like 1989 is the perfect place to start, it's an era that changed everything, and will always be an album people automatically think of when you say "Taylor Swift."
