IHOP, Worthy Of A Second Chance?

Is IHOP finally worth a second shot?

Over the years, Brookhaven had been a rapidly expanding community that has acquired multiple new businesses. Places such as Southern Treasures, Engravables, and even a Spirits &Winery on the Brookway Boulevard have made their appearances. Over a year ago word quickly spread that our town was building an IHOP. When it opened, people flooded through the doors in anticipation of a stack of warm pancakes. They were met with disappointment. Ticket times neared an hour, waitresses and waiters paid little-to-no mind what so ever of their customers. And when the food that IHOP was so known for came out, the food was nothing as we as customers imagined it.

Being seven months pregnant and craving sausage and waffles, I, along with a small group of friends, decided to wave away any negative comments towards the beloved eatery and went to a late night dinner. Just as we had been told, wait times were horrific. When it came time for food to come out our orders were wrong. We left in a hurry, and never gave a second thought on visiting again. That was, until, my sister-in-law became employed there a month ago. We had been told by her that things had improved. One day last week we decided to revisit the restaurant in hopes it could redeem is self, and when we arrived, we were surprised at how true her statement had been.

We were met at the doors by smiling employees, ready to sit us as soon as we arrived. Our waiter, Steven politely asked our choice of drink and give us our menus. After a short amount of time, he returned with our drinks and asked what meal we wanted. I was still undecided, so he gave his opinion on what foods he thought were best. Our order was ready in less than ten minutes and the staff was extremely accommodating. The food itself had also been improved upon. Among our orders, we had red velvet pancakes, strawberry pancakes and chicken fried steak. Old and new items alike, we were very satisfied with our order and with the service alike.

Manager Mike Paine, along with the help of staff members Keithon, Steven, Shayla, Jeff, Callie, and multiple others, spend their work days to improve the quality of your visit to IHOP. Bringing you great tasting foods that they are notorious for and showing you just how worthy they are of a second chance, IHOP surely awaits you. If you’re unsure of its location, the address is 106 Strlbling Road, Brookhaven, Mississippi 39601. It can be found in front of the Home Depot pass the Brookway Boulevard.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
