If You're Trying To Make Money In Quarantine Without Leaving Your House, Here's How!

As a college student stuck at home without an essential job, a room in need of a spring cleaning, and approximately $57 dollars in my bank account, I hatched the perfect idea for how I can still do my part to combat coronavirus from home, clean out my stuff, and make some money out of it.

Sell your stuff! The non-contact way!

While I've heard of Facebook Marketplace, that's not something I've been brave enough to try yet. As a tiny twenty-year-old woman, meeting up with strangers to trade items and cash doesn't sound very appealing to me just yet. So I've been using other means to exchange my stuff.

I've been using Poshmark and Mercari, selling apps on my phone!

It's very simple - just upload photos of your items, fill in some other information like the condition, size, and price of the item, and that's pretty much the first step!

Shipping is very easy. Everybody's ordering a lot more things online lately, so just save those packages (wipe them down, of course) and once you print the shipping label the website emails directly to you, you can just drop off the package in a USPS box (if it fits, it ships,) schedule a pick-up, or drop into a post office if you're comfortable!

The farthest I've had to travel for my online selling business has been my post office, and so far all of my packages have fit in the USPS box!

Once your customer gets their product, they rate you and the company will pay you! You can either use that money to buy something in the app (because f fast fashion, right?) or you can have it transferred to your bank account at no extra cost!

I haven't sold a whole ton of things yet, but I've made about $30 so far! It's easy, hassle-free, and it pays! I'd say Poshmark is the best app I've used. They take less of the money you've earned on your items. However, I've found it harder to sell things on Poshmark. Mercari is much easier, but it will take way more of your earnings depending on what it is you're selling.

If you're reading this and are interested in what I have in my closet, my Poshmark is @stinaform! I still have a lot of remodeling to do on my posts to make them look more appealing (that helps sell,) but feel free to have a look!

There is also tons of advice out there for selling online if neither of the ways that have been working for me isn't your jam! It's not hard, anyone can do it, so don't freak out and try it! You never know, you could be very successful!

I hope I've inspired you to get out there (but not actually,) and make some money! Your wallet & your closet will thank you.

(And of course, you should donate what you don't sell!)

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
