Living with people that you aren't related to is one of the things that you'll most likely go through after graduating high school. Some end up being your best friend, and some, well, not so much. You wonder how in the world the apartment complex matched you with them. Some people are really good with conflict, but if you're like me, I can't stand conflict. I'd rather tolerate it than say something (especially if they're a stranger and don't know how they'll react). It's difficult to get through the entire lease without transferring out of the apartment (considering it can be really expensive to do so), and you might even have a countdown going. Just know that the day will come, and you can get through this.
If they don't clean up after themselves (especially after a week).
It really bothers you at first, and then you begin to act like their mom. Then after awhile, you lay down the law. You decide to not do it anymore. You may stand above the mess, urging to clean it up, but eventually you're like not my mess, not my job.
When they live a completely different lifestyle.
It's even more difficult when you didn't understand what they meant and didn't tell you after until you're matched and moved in with them.
When they don't clean their dishes.
The food on the plates and in the pots is dried up. You used to scrub and scrub and scrub to get it off, but now you just look in the sink and wonder how can these people deal with it.
When the thermometer is put on a ridiculous degree, such as 80 degrees in the springtime.
You get a constant temperature war when all you want is the apartment to feel normal.
If they act crazy.
Self-explanatory.
They don't acknowledge any of your group texts.
Can you at least help me out here?
When you find they're gone for the weekend or won't be here for the summer.
You literally couldn't jump any higher from how happy you are.
The day you finally move out.
What you feel to be the greatest day of your life.
Just know that the day you move out will come, and you'll move on to better things. Just don't forget what Tina Fey said, "Some people say, 'Never let them see you cry.' I say, if you’re so mad you could just cry, then cry. It terrifies everyone."
