I have seen many tweets pertaining to this lately and it honestly angered me and many other students a lot. If you are in a major with intense math classes, chances are you are good at or like math.
There are many students, me included, that would LOVE to be good at math and just aren’t. Ever since my junior year of high school I have had 3 times all A’s and a B, C, or D in my math heavy courses. Math just doesn’t make sense to me. This is how it is for many students and that doesn’t mean their major, or GPA, should be discredited.
As a Fashion Merchandising major, I have not had to take many math heavy courses and neither has my friend who is a Criminal Justice major. Telling both of us that our majors and classes that we work hard for don’t matter, merely because they don’t involve massive amounts of math, does not justify that we do not work as hard.
Putting others down to boost yourself up is not a good task to partake in and anyone who puts another student down when they are working their hardest needs to reevaluate themselves. Anyone putting in the work and doing their best deserves to be recognized.
