If you're anything like me, then the holidays are your absolute favorite time of year. You enjoy the seasons as they come and the activities that go along with them, but spring and summer are no match for the joy you feel in your heart when fall comes around and you know Christmas is just around the corner.

1. You just can't be in a bad mood.

Even if something happens that should stress you out or make you angry, you can't feel those emotions because of the Christmas spirit in your heart.

2. You've been counting down for Christmas since it happened last year.

Whether secretly or openly, you've been excited for Christmas since the moment December 25th ended the year before.

3. You get personally offended if someone doesn't like Christmas.

It's like a dagger to the heart if someone shames Christmas or you for loving it so much. So you just write an extra letter to Santa apologizing for their [wrong] opinion and try to make up for their lack of Christmas cheer.

4. It doesn't matter what it is, if it is Christmas themed, you will purchase it.

From the normal things like socks, sweaters, and decorations to things a little more strange like toothbrushes, underwear, or light bulbs. Even if you never use it, it makes your heart happy just to own it.

5. It's not the day you care about, it's the season.

December 25th isn't what you love. You celebrate the Lord's birthday, but really what you enjoy is the time leading up to it. Christmas lights on every house, music on every station, and Santa in every mall. Turning on the TV and seeing Christmas movies on every channel makes you giddy. The presents aren't your focus. Honestly, it's probably hard for you to even decide what you want for Christmas. It's the atmosphere of Christmas time that you love.

6. You're a Christmas carol rock star.

You know and love them all. You can sing every word with passion. And if you're like me, you have a Christmas station on your Pandora app all year long just waiting for the "appropriate" time to start playing it (which is September for me).

If you're anything like me, then you're absolutely obsessed with Christmas and everything that comes along with it. You feel like a little kid for the entire season and get seriously upset once it has passed. But don't lose that Christmas spirit. I live with mine all year long. There are so many things in this life that get us stressed or upset, embrace your inner elf and keep singing those carols. Everyone could use a good Christmas in July.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
