Anyone who's lucky as a freshman in college finds their second family in a group of friends.

In my case, it is big enough to be a small family. As of right now, there are about fifteen of us. I love every single one of them in different ways. I mom all of them, even my boyfriend. Even though I'm so much shorter than them, they just kinda go with it. The thing I love about them is that I have different relationships with each boy or girl in the group, to the ones that literally call me mom, to the one I always call at late hours of the night because I know that they're the only other one awake and who will listen to whatever the hell it is I'm talking about. To the one I met way back at summer orientation and have been friends with ever since. To the only other girl in our group and I talking to each other about things we wouldn't talk to the boys about.

My day isn't even complete without seeing all of them. Spending a month over break without them made me realize just how much I love them and how seeing them every day is such a huge part of my day. Even if it's just sitting outside our residential building for a few hours talking about god knows what and then going to eat together, no time spent with them is ever boring.

Being one of only two girls in the friend group just makes it more interesting because you just end up trying to be their wingman and as I said, momming them hardcore, especially when it comes to them wearing jackets when it's cold and making choices about girls you always have something to say and advice to give, even when they didn't ask. You try to be their wingman and it just ends in you and two of them sitting around carefully selecting profiles on Tinder that the person's phone you're on would approve of.

I just met most of them in September and I'm closer to them than most people I've known for years. I love them more than words can describe. I love how I have different friendships with each of them; that is something that I wouldn't trade for anything. So yeah boys (and Cass and Bry, even though you don't always sit outside with us), this one is for you guys. I love all of you and thanks for always keeping my life interesting and making it better just by being in it.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
