If You Give A Girl A College Acceptance
Olivia Jane

If you give a girl a college acceptance, she's going to post it on Instagram.

When she waits for her Instagram likes to come in, she will probably go onto Pinterest to plan out her dorm room. While she is on Pinterest, she is going to realize she needs to go shopping.

So you take her to the store.

When you take her to the store she will want to look at all the different accessories for her walls. She's going to decide which inspirational wall quotes best summarize her, and strive to find a perfect color scheme. While she is finding all these decorations, she realizes she needs to hang up all her pictures in her dorm.

So you look through photo albums.

While you are looking through photo albums, she's going to relive some of her favorite memories. The concert she went to when she missed curfew and when she spilled punch on her prom dress will seem like yesterday. She's going to notice how much she has changed over the years; hair, makeup, and clothes. While she is noticing her change

So you get boxes out to help pack.

When she moves in and is alone on that first day, she will take a picture of her completed dorm room and upload it to Instagram and think about how lucky she is. She won't think anything could get better than that moment. But it will. Years after she has made many memories, friends, and has a degree in hand, she will look back and be thankful for the day where she was given a college acceptance.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
