If You Give A Girl An Angel

She'll realize she's really lucky

If You Give A Girl An Angel
Francesca Vigliotta

If you give a girl an angel, she will hurt. She won't really know how to grieve or how to heal a wound so big.

When she’s sad, she’ll be confused. She'll despise the disease that gave her an angel, and she’ll search for answers.

When she starts looking for answers, she’ll start talking to God.

God will probably tell her that everything is okay and her angel will start showing her that he’s there, too.

When her angel starts talking to her through signs, she’ll be elated with joy. She’ll smile every time he appears, for these are special moments. She might see him in a song on the radio in the middle of the day, or as she's walking to class and the sun is shining. He'll appear at unexpected times, which will make her weak in the knees, but serve as the powerful reminder she needs that he is always beside her. It's through these special moments that she’ll be reminded of her favorite memories with her angel.

And when she starts to play back those memories, her heart will be so full because she’ll feel like, for a brief moment, her angel isn't gone, but is there with her.

As she has this feeling, she'll be hit with a rush of emotions. She won't be able to understand that her angel is just that: simply an angel. Some days will be better than others, but she will learn and work to overcome.

And what goes on when she tries to overcome? She learns the most valuable thing there is to learn: her angel is never gone. Her angel will always remain by her side and guide her through the ups and downs, and watch all of her successes. She'll believe her angel took part in giving her those successes, too. She will honor her angel. She will never forget him. How could she forget someone who impacted her the way he had?

If you give a girl an angel, she will cry, she will hurt, she will feel a pain that will never go away. In some sense, she doesn't resent the pain; it makes her feel human, and maybe, just maybe, it might bring her closer to her angel.

And when she accepts this and understands that her angel can never leave her, she’ll realize that she’s really lucky to have been given an amazing person who has turned into the ultimate guardian angel.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
