Meditation
I have personally tried but haven't had the strength to stick with it for a long period of time. That being said, whenever I would meditate, I would feel a sense of calmness and increased energy.
Yoga
It's a really relaxing form of exercise, and the combination of stretching and strategically breathing forces your body and mind to relax. Beyond being a healthy coping mechanism, it can also provide one with a sense of groundedness.
Exercise
Working out naturally produces endorphins, the body's natural painkillers. This will boost mood, and hopefully provide a temporary distraction from the mayhem.
Baking
This is my favorite hobby! If you're not particularly artsy, baking or cooking is a cool way to be creative. And bonus points, you get a delicious dish at the end!
Reading
Getting involved in a really interesting story is a way to forget about reality for a few hours. Or if you're into non-fiction, reading is a way to educate yourself about a topic you're passionate about!
And if none of these seem appealing to you... you could always scroll through Tik Tok for a few hours.
