Think about the worst grade you've ever received. Almost everyone has felt their stomach drop at the site of a 50 (or below) out of 100 written in that crimson ink at the top of an assignment. It's an awful feeling. And imagine your parents knew. That would be an absolute nightmare. Especially once you've reached college. Any failed grade feels like a hit to the bank account for your parents. Sometimes it's best not to worry them about a bad grade here and there, but here's what I predict would be the reactions if your parents knew about each and every shameful grade.
After you find out all your final grades.
You after your parents have decided your fate for the summer after finding out your grades.
The conversation between your mom and dad after they've screamed at you and things went south.
When you remind your parents that Cs (and Ds!) get degrees.
Their reaction after they realize that in all those pictures they liked on your Instagram you spent much more time partying than studying.
When you try to convince your parents you have a back up plan if your major doesn't work out.
Their reaction to you even suggesting your major may not work out in your senior year.
The morning after your parents almost killed you for wasting their money on a failed class.
What they've trained you to say after you were honest with them.
It's a good thing we don't live in this parallel universe where we were completely honest with our parents about our grades. It's best for everyone. Honesty is not always the best policy.
