Let's all be honest with each other for a second. Yes, Grey-Sloan Memorial was named after Meredith Grey on the best TV series, Grey's Anatomy, but deep down we know who really should have been the star of the show. Below is a list of life lessons Dr. Yang has taught us throughout the years.

1. Don't ever be afraid to say why you did what you did.


2. Have a problem? Or don't want to ugly cry when saying goodbye's? That's okay, shut up and dance it out.

3. Push yourself to be the very best you can be.


4. Have your priorities straight.

5. Don't make time for meaningless drama.

6. Always plan out your personal schedule accordingly.

7. Encourage your friend's lame jokes, even if they do suck.

8. Give good roommate tips to friends and family who are visiting.

9. Only go to events and awkward gatherings if food is going to be there...

10. Gave good boy advice.

11. Knows how to come to a conclusion on things.

12. Always knew how to inspire her co-workers.

13. Taught us to be emotionally and mentally strong.

14. Showed us that it's okay not to be an open book. Privacy is good.

15. Most importantly, she taught us what real friendship looks like.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
