If Men Were Treated Like Women

They wouldn't know what to do

If Men Were Treated Like Women
Huffington Post

It's something that's often disregarded in day-to-day life because men and women are, simply put, different. So naturally, they're treated differently. But if you spend more time one the matter, you see how over-sexualized and belittled women are in today's society just for being women.

I mean could you imagine if:

A man didn't get hired for the job because he wasn't pretty enough.
A guy's significant other made comments about his weight that eventually led to an eating disorder.
A man was asked if he was on his period because he was acting slightly emotional.
A man walking home by himself got cat-called by a group of women.
A guy was told to "stop being such a bitch" because he stood up for himself.
Female coworkers made sexual remarks about the male secretary and suffered no repercussions because "girls will be girls."
A man was blamed for his own rape because he was wearing a revealing v-neck.
Men were pressured to look like the men on magazine covers.
A male athlete was told to "stop playing like a man."
A girl came up behind a boy at a party and started dancing on him without even asking his name.
Some sexist comments were made about "a man's place being in the home."
A boy was offered something for free as long as he flashed the girls his tits.
A male worker is told he is making less than his female partner...for the same job.
And so on...

And the worst part is, most men don't know any other way to act because most women in our society have learned to accept being treated this way. But if the roles were reversed, we know men wouldn't take any crap from sexist women. So why should women take any crap from sexist men?

Oh, and if you want further examples, watch these BuzzFeed videos:

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
