“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.”- Michael Jordan.
Have you ever really thought about time and the essence of it? Think of it this way; you missed your train by one minute and 35 seconds. You could have missed out on meeting the love of your life by that mere one minute and 35 seconds. Or you missed the train by one minute and 35 seconds, and you ended up winning the lottery, because while you were waiting for the next train, you bought a lotto ticket.Time works in mysterious ways.
The essence of time affects every single thing that we do in our lives, whether we want to admit it or not. Time isn’t just a bunch of numbers, time is what we do, where we do it, and how we do it. I think the main question is; do you allow the essence of time to control your life, or do you actually mean what you say and go with the flow as much as possible? Everyone’s different, that’s what makes us who we are.
Personally, I have always been troubled with the concept of time. For one, I am late to absolutely everything in my life; I get it from my father. Two, I always wonder or worry a lot more than I most likely should.
Did it not work out with that guy or girl because you were just genuinely in two different places in your lives and timing royally screwed you both over, did you not choose a job, or did you not go to a school, based on the timing in your life, because things weren’t just falling into the place that you wish they would have? That could also play into the fact of fate and that everything is supposed to happen the way it should.
The concept of time is so incredible to me. Do you just go with the fact that timing might not be right for you right now, or do you say screw it, if I want something badly enough, I’ll make it happen? I want to go to school, and maybe financially my parents can’t help me right now, so I’m going to wait for it to be the right time, or do you say, I want it badly enough I’m going to do it myself? Or do you and your significant other want to be together, but the timing just happened to be wrong? So you make it work for right now. Sometimes the time of where you are in your life makes you think that you're not ready for what's next. Do you take the leap or the risk and do it anyway? I think you should.
People always think differently, your mindset of time completely and totally affects the way you live your life. I would rather live my life with the concept of 'I have tried, it may have not worked out, but at least I have tried,' because the ‘What If’ feeling will never go away, and I don’t want to be one of those people in 40 years that sits there and wonders because I didn’t take a chance because of any sort of timing.
"Timing is a hell of a thing. In the end, that’s all it comes down to. The potency of an attraction or the purity of a connection mean very little if you’re on separate journeys." — Beau Taplin // Separate Journeys
