You know what cheers me up when I'm having a rough day? "Friends." How about when I'm sick and need something to watch? "Friends." What do I never get bored of? "Friends."
I'm not talking about friends, improper noun. I'm talking about "Friends," proper noun, the '90s and '00s sitcom with six of everyone's favorite (fictional) people.
These six friends dealt with issues that most 20-somethings deal with: love, money, relationships, family... But what if the issues they dealt with were prevalent in 2016, and if instead of life in their mid-20s, they dealt with the everyday struggles that we college students experience?
I present to you modern-day, undergraduate "Friends."
1. "The One with British Joey."
Joey is in a school production of "The Importance of Being Earnest," a British play. In order to prepare for the role, Joey speaks in a British accent 24/7. He notices that the girls he flirts with respond well to the accent, but his friends are more than annoyed with British Joey.
2. "The One with the Jungle Juice."
Enough said.
3. "The One with the Care Package."
Ross is massively offended when Monica receives a Valentine's Day care package from their parents but he does not. But don't worry, he's fine!
4. "The One with the Free Food."
Joey joins every on-campus club that advertises free food. As his schedule becomes out of hand, he has to ask himself: is all the hassle worth all the free pizza?
5. "The One with the Eggplant Emoji."
Ross texts his new girlfriend an eggplant emoji before their first date. His plan: making eggplant parm for dinner. What she thinks his plan is: not that.
Ross: I think she wants to watch a movie and hang out too.
Chandler: She didn't say "Netflix and chill," did she?
Ross: I think she might have.
Joey: How you doin'?
6. "The One with the Swipe Right."
Chandler becomes addicted to Tinder, but doesn't ever intend on meeting up with any of his matches.
Rachel: Are any of your relationships going anywhere?
Chandler: That's the beauty of it; I don't have to go anywhere! I am on my couch, in my pajamas on a Saturday night. It's the dream: I'm having intelligent conversations with beautiful girls and I don't even have to change my underwear.
7. "The One with the Dorm Thanksgiving."
No season of "Friends" is complete without a Thanksgiving episode! The gang decides to stay at school and celebrate Thanksgiving together rather than go home and deal with inevitable dinner-table family drama. With minimal resources to work with in a college dorm, the friends need to get creative, which includes thawing a frozen turkey with a hairdryer.
8. "The One with the Laundry Thief."
Every time Monica does laundry, she has a new missing article of clothing. In order to crack the case, she performs a stakeout; puts her laundry in, hides, and waits.
Monica (while folding laundry): Ha! Another sock missing!
Ross: People lose socks all the time when they do their laundry.
Monica: That's what he wants you to think!
9. "The One in Cancun."
Because we all know "Friends" is incomplete without a group vacation.
10. "The One with Girls' Night."
After Rachel's most recent breakup, the girls decide to stay in and watch movies and eat junk food. However, it turns out the biggest party of the year is on the same night and Phoebe and Monica secretly really want to go, but are willing to stay in for Rachel. But it also turns out Rachel secretly wants to go but thinks the other two want to stay in.
BRB, gonna go binge watch Season 5!
