You probably have a favorite Disney princess. I know I do. I watched "Beauty and the Beast" every night for two years straight when I was a kid, and I identified with Belle on a whole other level. But are you similar enough to your favorite princess that you would choose the same major? See if you and your favorite are as in sync as you think below!

1. Ariel: Anthropology

While marine biology seems the obvious choice, Ariel is more interested in humans than fish. She'd take being "where the people are" to a whole new level.

2. Belle: Engineering

Belle loves reading, but as the daughter of an inventor, she's also fascinated by how things work. Engineering combines her love of reading to learn, inventing, and giving back to the community. As an English major, I hope she'd minor in English to get some fiction reading in.

3. Pocahontas: Environmental Science

If "Colors of the Wind" taught us anything, it's that the environment is extremely precious. Pocahontas would choose a major that puts her on the front line of environmental protection and out in nature learning firsthand.

4. Sleeping Beauty: Plant Science

Pricking your finger on a rose thorn and falling asleep for potentially a hundred years changes you. Sleeping Beauty would make sure this didn't happen to anyone else.

5. Cinderella: Hotel Management

Cinderella knows a thing or two about running a large household, so hotel management is a natural progression. She'd want the change of pace management gave her, and her positive attitude would be great for employee morale.

6. Tiana: Business

Tiana already has the cooking skills, so in college, she'd want to develop those business chops. Maybe she could partner with Cinderella in a hotel/restaurant.

7. Snow White: Nursing

Taking care of people is Snow White's calling. She also loves a clean, sterile environment. Nursing might even be a better match for her than the prince!

8. Anna: Political Science & International Relations

Anna is all about getting out of her town and exploring the world. That's why the adventure, intrigue and travel components of this major are perfect for her.

9. Mulan: Criminal Justice

Mulan is out to save her entire country, so a criminal justice major is only her first step. She'd definitely start a self-defense club in her free time.

10. Jasmine: Women's Studies

Jasmine doesn't need a man to find success, and she'd want to help other women feel the same way. She cares about human rights and equality, making her the perfect candidate for a women's studies degree.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
