If The Chicago Blackhawks Were in Fraternities

Chicago's favorite boys have frat-star potential.

If The Chicago Blackhawks Were in Fraternities

The Blackhawks just won the Western Conference Final, which brings them to the Stanley Cup Finals for the third time in the past six years. These guys know how to kick butt on and off the ice, and I can't help but think about what these guys would have been like in college. They all know how to celebrateas we saw after they won the Stanley Cup in 2010 and 2013so we can assume that these guys were definitely cut out for the fraternity lifestyle. Here is my opinion of which fraternities each champion would belong to:

Andrew Shaw- Sigma Nu

Shaw is a tough, scrappy guy, and he has emerged as a force to be reckoned with on this team throughout the past few years. This Canadian handles injury very well, and is also quite philanthropic; he auctioned off his stitches from his injury, and donated all the proceeds to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Also, he knows how to party with the best of them.

Marian Hossa- Phi Delt

Hossa is a veteran to the sport of hockey. At the ripe age of 36, he has had an abundance of experience in the sport, and has played with many different teams before finding his fit in Chicago. This forward was drafted first round all the way back in 1997, so he's been seen as one of the best for a long time now. He is a confident player who has been very consistent in his playing.

Patrick Kane- PIKE

Patty Kane is that guy on the team that is always down for a good time. He loves to party, as well as kick ass on the ice. He was born to play hockey, and is obviously one of the stars of this team. The game comes easy to him and he knows it, confidence is one of this player's best qualities. If you want a good laugh, check out the "Drunk Patrick Kane" twitter account. It never disappoints.

Patrick Sharp- Delt Sigs

Sharp is a good guy, natural leader and, most of all, a pretty boy. He is always a crowd favorite, and a great assistant captain of the team. He is also a veteran to the sport, and even though he was drafted in the third round, look where he is now.

Duncan Keith- SAE

Another assistant captain, he knows what to do when he needs to do it. He is known as a two-way defenseman. He can make incredible blocks and play offense if needed. This scrappy player does not care that he often has multiple teeth missing. He also went to the best school on earth: Michigan State University.

Corey Crawford- FIJI

This starting goalie doesn't take anything from anyone. He is a fighter and doesn't care what anyone has to say about him. Crawford is that guy who always goes by his nickname.

Brandon Saad- Delta Chi

This young guy is strong and often overlooked. He is a really good player, despite his age, and has a lot more time to prove that he is here to stay.

Brent Seabrook- Sig Eps

Seabrook, a first-round draft pick, was born to be a competitor. He has experienced a lot of international play, and hockey runs in his family. He is a chill guy, and not always the star of the show, but he is okay with that.

Niklas Hjalmarsson- Psi U

Hjalmarsson is a great team player, and for the first few years after he was drafted, in the fourth round, he wasn't really a pivotal part of the team. He eventually became a key part of the team the year before the team won the Stanley Cup. He was more than okay with waiting for his time to shine.

Jonathan Toews- Sigma Chi

Of course I had to save the Captain for last. Toews, often mispronounced as “toes," is one of the biggest stars of the team, and he knows it. But, he doesn't really let it get to his head. He has lead his team to many victories and is a natural leader. As a first round pick (third overall), he was destined for greatness. With his heart-melting smile, Toews can essentially do no wrong.

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
