My Idols,
I've been reading it in the headlines for way too long, "after taking his/her life today ... is gone." I don't know how much more of it I can take.
Jill Janus, Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington and so many others have struggled while helping others. These people, my idols, put so much beauty in the world. From their music to their everlasting support and love towards their fans, they have truly impacted the world. I can't lose any more of you.
You give me hope, a way to make it through and somewhere safe to be in your art. I want to thank you for this because it has helped me overcome many things like my eating disorder, depression, self-harm, and anxiety.
Every day I see at least one of you spreading love, whether it's on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, at a show and so many other places. Is there a way fans can help get it back to you? How can we help you personally? The music and art you create are very important, but you are too. You are a person and you are this figure people practically worship. I can't imagine the pressure that puts on you.
I am so sorry. Some of these people were your friends and people you have shared the stage with. I've lost a few friends to suicide in the last few years. I can't imagine having to read headline after headline about them. Some of these people are also people you look up to, you are part of their fanbase. To that I say, we are going to be okay.
If you need help please reach out, but I also know that is much easier said than done. There are thousands of people who care so much about you. You deserve any help you need.
With much love,
A Worried Fan

If you have ever struggled with mental health, take a picture with your rock horns up, add the hashtag and share it. The more people who share the more awareness and the further the hashtag will spread.
