Why I Love Meghan Trainor

Why would I want to be anyone else?

Why I Love Meghan Trainor

OK, I am not a huge Meghan Trainor fan. That being said I absolutely love her song "Me Too". I find it to be inspiring, motivating, and up lifting. It is a very happy, fun, catchy song. But it is getting a considerable amount of heat saying that Meghan is being self-involved and self-obsessed with this song. I disagree. I think this song is about self-confidence and self-worth. You are the best you ever! We should strive to be someone else we should strive to be true to ourselves. We are all amazing and unique. This world would be boring if we were all the same and I want to be me.

"I thank God everyday"

And we should. Life is short you never know when it is going to end so you should wake up each day and thank God that you exist. That you are still here and for all the good he has put into your life. God is great and sometimes we are scared to admit it or acknowledge it in today's society.

“That I woke up feelin’ this way”

She is feeling great! She is happy! And I want to be too and this song puts me in a good mood and makes me happy and excited to go on with my day! Stay happy every new day brings new experiences and new joys so go out there and get them!

“And I can’t help loving myself”

We should all love ourselves, show ourselves respect. We are who we are and we should be happy with it. If you are not you need to go after whatever it is in life that will make you happy and to allow you to love yourself for exactly who you are.

“And I don’t need any one nobody else, nuh uh”

You do not need someone else in order to be happy! You are enough all on your own. This is hard and I struggle with this all the time, but the only person you really need is you. Now do not get me wrong you can accept and even ask for help but, you need to know that even if they do not help you could manage it without them. You are enough. You can do anything. You are amazing!

“If I was you, I’d wanna be me too”

This is the line that takes the most heat. To me, she is not saying that everyone should be like her, she is saying that she is perfectly happy being the person she is. IF she was doing something else, she would wish she was doing exactly what she is doing right now.

To me this song is about being proud of your self! Be who you are and don’t try to be anything else. You are perfect just the way you are!

Put it all together and you get a power ballad!

“I thank God every day
That I woke up feelin' this way
And I can't help lovin' myself
And I don't need nobody else, nuh uh

If I was you, I'd wanna be me too
I'd wanna be me too
I'd wanna be me, too
If I was you, I'd wanna be me too
I'd wanna be me too
I'd wanna be me, too”

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
