An Ice Cream For Every Stage Of Summer

I know it’s not summer yet, but a girl can dream — can’t she?

An Ice Cream For Every Stage Of Summer

It’s getting hot outside, and I know I’m already screaming for ice cream. Here’s a list of the best ice creams to indulge in this summer. There’s one for every occasion!

The Can’t Wait for Summer Ice Cream

It’s still April, sure, but you’re just too excited about the summertime to wait. You head down to your favorite ice cream place that just opened up for the season and you treat yourself to your favorite flavor there. Personally, mine’s mocha chip from my favorite local spot, Richardson’s.

The Roadtrip Ice Cream

You’re finally out of school! You’re back home and seeing your high school friends when you decide you want to hit the road -- because what’s more summer than a roadtrip? Wherever you head, you have ice cream on your mind. Maybe you spend a weekend in a city. If you head to New York, trying Momofuku’s cereal milk frozen yogurt is a MUST.

The Patriotic Ice Cream

It’s the fourth of July, the only day when even your food needs to be patriotic. You celebrate the only way you know how: red, white, and blue ice cream! You grab a cone while you watch the parade in your town. This one is patriotic birthday cake flavored. Could you ask for anything better?!

The It’s too Hot for Ice Cream Ice Cream

You know that time of the summer, where you don’t even want to step foot in the sun or you will die. It’s so hot that you can't even get an ice cream cone because it will melt faster than you can eat it. Try iced alternatives instead. My favorites include Edy’s popsicles and Luigi’s Italian ice.

The Family Vacation Ice Cream

This summer, I’m looking forward to a family trip to Italy. No matter where you go on vacation with your family, your mouth must be watering with the possibilities of great foods (and even better desserts!). This gelato already has me in a trance.

The End of Summer Ice Cream

This part is painful to write, but every year without fail, summer seems to end too soon. The late summer period has you dreading every moment, fearing that it will soon grow too cold for ice cream. What do you do to cope? You live it up while you can, using any possible excuse to grab an ice cream. Maybe you even start a dairy-only diet.

I like to use this chance to reminisce on the old days by visiting the ice cream truck before it retires for the winter season. Pick your old favorite! I used to grab a Tweety Bird popsicle after every weekend soccer game I had in my elementary school days. The options are endless!

So make sure you seize the day every day this summer by switching up your ice cream game. You won't regret it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
