Five times better than those exotic yogurt parfaits we all like to admire on Pinterest, smoothie bowls cover the cold, creamy and beloved taste of sorbet that can be easily made at home. Some say there the next best thing to eating ice cream, but cram packed with nutrients your body would defiantly disagree with. Switching your smoothie from a glass to a bowl means more room for toppings, so pile high with fresh fruit, seeds, nuts or anything else your hungry heart desires.
Now if you feel like you're up to the challenge, or are wanting to become a famous food blogger you could strive for a smoothie bowl spread like so. Just looking at those pictures make me hungry and jealous of the person who got to eat of these finished masterpieces. Don’t let these beautiful breakfast bowls scare you off because when it comes down to it, it only matters how it tastes, and trust me it’s a hard recipe to screw up!
Smoothie bowls have become my new breakfast obsession, and being able to eat ice cream first thing in the morning just makes me even happier. Here are a couple of my new favorites that I made myself!

Personally I have found that it helps to use frozen fruit and small amounts of liquid to create a creamy consistency. I like to use apple juice or milk typically depending on the fruit I use. Sliced almonds are my topping of choice!! SO GOOD! Nuts, seeds and fruits in my opinion have been the tastiest as well as most common when finding inspiration on Pinterest. When it comes to my go to combination I always find myself using sliced almonds, dried coconut chips, flax seeds, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and sliced strawberries! YUM
