I'm afraid of a lot of things:
Squirrels, metal machinery inside water,
Most people before they talk to me.
I could list more, this whole piece could be a list of things I'm afraid of.
But one thing I've never been afraid of is my best friend.
Since the second I saw her, we were joined at the hip.
I've spent hours upon hours just sitting with her.
She's known my deepest secrets and my darkest sorrows.
I know that every time I go home, she will be there waiting for me.
When I'm upset, she holds my hand, telling me everything will be okay.
She has the most gorgeous eyes.
Sometimes, she'll sit outside for hours, soaking in the nature around her.
Of course, now you're probably thinking,
"Who is this person? She seems weird."
But my best friend is no person.
She's my dog.
