Odyssey Has Become So Much More To Me Than A Resume Builder

Join that club, write that piece, speak your mind. You won't regret it.

When I first decided to write for Odyssey, I won't lie — I wanted to have something to put on my resume. I have always sort of enjoyed writing, so I figured, why not?

But it quickly became something that I grew to love.

Sure, when I have to submit an article every week on top of the million other things I have going on, it can get to be a lot. But it's worth it when you see your work getting hundreds of page views by people just like you. Odyssey has turned my sort of love for writing into a true love for it. I get to do what I love, while also writing about things that I love. Pretty great.

I love sharing my articles on my personal social media and I love the reaction my work gets from those around me. It's the best when a topic comes up and someone asks, "Hey, didn't you write an article about this?" Heck yeah, I did!

This article probably seems pretty corny right now. But I really wanted to put into writing how much I appreciate this platform and all it has done for me. It not only allows me to better myself as a writer, but it allows me to stay in touch with my creative side and have a voice on topics in a way that I never thought was possible.

Doing things that are out of your comfort zone are often the things that achieve the best results. I never thought that I could publicly write about and share some of the things that I do. Yet here I am.

What I'm trying to say is this: join that club, write that piece, speak your mind. You won't regret it.

I sure don't.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
