As a first time cat mom, I have a lot of questions.

6 Questions You Will Google When You Become A Cat Mom

I am on Google almost everyday trying to find the answers to my most obscure cat questions and here are a few that are the more popular ones.

1. Why is my cat purring so much?

The first day I brought him home, he purred nonstop and I was beginning to think he was broken. I just took him away from his cat friends and the only people he knew, why was he purring so much? Turns out that they don't purr exclusively for happiness....

2. What does catnip actually do?

I wanted it to be like weed for cats but basically it is a stimulant and so I bought catnip bubbles, spray, and dried. We've had quite a bit of fun with it... and yes it is safe for them to eat it.

3. Why does my cat talk so much?

Some breeds are more talkative than others but he is a tabby so I did not expect this. He talks constantly, when I get home, when I leave, when he wants food, when he wants attention, if he can't find me, etc.

Sometimes its more of a yell if he is really desperate and on a recent trip to the vet I found out that it is hereditary and that his brother does it too.

4. Why does my cat wiggle his butt?

He does this right before he jumps at me and it turns out that he is just checking his balance before he decides to attack my toes in the middle of the night.

5. Does my cat love me?

With dogs this has always been clear but with a cat I am always unsure. I Google this at least once a week. I think he does... I mean if he didn't why would he yell for me if he doesn't know where I am?

6. Why is my cat so weird?

I never found an answer just because he is so broadly weird but I think it gives him character and it keeps things interesting.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
