I Eat Plant-Based Meals And No, I'm Not Missing Out On Anything

I eat this way, but I'm not here to convince you to make the switch — it's to tell you I don't care if you don't like how I eat.

I Eat Plant-Based Meals And No, I'm Not Missing Out On Anything

I've wanted to write about this for a while now because so many people have been giving me a hard time ever since I've adjusted my diet — and by hard time, I mean questioning my diet and my reason for eating the way I eat.

First of all, I absolutely did not have a choice. This diet is the only diet that has worked for my stomach, however, many people don't want to believe this. Because plant-based eating has become a trend lately, others are struggling to believe that my diet isn't just to gain attention. I'm definitely not complaining about everyone hopping on the bandwagon. After all, it's super helpful to follow others who share recipes that would be beneficial to you.

My diet is the best thing about my life, like, seriously. I enjoy eating plant-based meals more than anything in the world. While I'm certainly not a vegan, I do try my best to eat as healthy as I can. A new diet can be hard to stick to, especially when you're first starting out, but the best thing to do is make a routine and stick to it.

My morning and night routines are what makes my diet so fun and easy for me to stick to. It took me a while to get into a solid routine that I actually liked, but the more you try and adjust the better your routine and diet will be. Not only for your diet and health but in general. Having set routines is important because having a structure is super beneficial.

As I said before, it's been hard for people to understand why I eat the way I eat. Don't get me wrong, I love junk food and everything about it. It was really hard to make the adjustment to healthy all around eating, so taking it one step at a time makes it a lot easier. I still struggle with knowing when to stop eating or choosing something better for me over something I want. It's challenging, but if you're thinking about doing it, you have to just go for it. There is no time like the present.

I also understand that people won't ever understand why I eat this way — and that's totally okay. Everyone does what they think is best for them and that's all you can do. Eating this way has its pros and cons just like everything in the world. I truly enjoy making better choices and eating healthier for myself. It's something my mom has been very passionate about for a long time. Finally, I feel the same passion for a healthy body that she does. Healthy starts from the inside out. Taking care of yourself is extremely important.

If you're thinking about making the switch to a healthier diet, then do it! It's never too late.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
