I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, but I, personally, do not look forward to Fall. Of course, I love to watch football games, and my favorite article of clothing BY FAR is a sweatshirt, but this just isn't enough for me to love Fall the way everyone else seems to.
I love coming back to school and apple cider, but Fall represents the end of Summer. My time to relax and lay in the sun is over, and to me, seeing the leaves change a bunch of different colors is, although beautiful, just not worth it. When I see all those "Yeah, Summer is great and all, but what about Fall and all the (blah blah blah)…" tweets, I really want to report their post as spam.
You might think I am dramatic for feeling so strongly about a season, but there are so many things romanticized about Fall that I just can't relate to. Maybe if I liked pumpkin spiced lattes more, I would love the season associated with it. But, when there are holidays like Christmas, and movies like "The Polar Express", it is just sooo hard to get super psyched over Halloween and "The Nightmare Before Christmas". I'll give it to you, Fall, "Hocus Pocus" and the "Halloween Town" movies are good, but I just overall feel like Halloween is overrated when you're older… and this is coming from someone whose favorite food is candy.
Listen, I am not one to judge! If you put pumpkin spiced flavoring (I'm not sure if that's how it works) on your eggs, YOU DO YOU. I am so glad Fall brings you so much joy, but I just will not participate in any celebrations or spooky spells for the cold weather. You will see me in a sweatshirt, watching a football game, drinking hot chocolate, but I will NOT be ecstatic about it. With that being said, if you want to go apple picking, definitely hit me up, I am always down for an adventure (and I love apples)!
