5 Things I Am Thankful For Since I Moved Back Home

In This Article:

I am a senior at FSU and I am taking my last semester online, so there was no reason for me to stay there so I moved home and it has been one of the best decisions. Most people assume that once you leave home for college you don't move back, but why wouldn't I? There are a lot more benefits moving home than having to find a place to live by yourself and deal with all the responsibilities that come along with it. After being away for so long, moving back home has made me more nostalgic, comfortable, and therapeutic. These are the reasons that every college grad should move home after they graduate college, even if it's for a few weeks.

1. Home cooked meals.

No more college food!

2. Mom does my laundry.

I didn't have doing my laundry, but it is a lot more helpful when mom does it for me, obviously.

3. More family time.

I get to see my parents everyday and they are there to remind me of where I came from.

4. Saving money.

No more bills I have to worry about taking care of, I can start saving.

5. I've got time to figure out what my next step is.

I don't feel the pressure of having to to start my career right away.

Thank you to my parents who give me never-ending love and support, without you I wouldn't know what to do. XOXO.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
