It's 2020 And I Am A Proud Conservative, Here Are My Very Unpopular Opinions

In This Article:

All but one of my friends are liberals. I feel out of place. I feel scared to speak out for what I believe in. I am afraid of what my friends will say. I am hoping that, while you read this, you keep an open mind and allow me to have my own opinion. If you do not agree with something, that's OK! We all have our own thoughts.

There are my opinions. Let's begin.

1. I believe that abortion is murder.

If abortion was morally right, would it be OK to kill your child after birth? What's the difference? Abortion is murder. Plain and simple. Abortion is meant to end the life of a growing baby. I am not OK with it. Everyone deserves a chance at life.

"Well it's my body, so it's my choice"? No. There's a baby in there too.

2. I believe that life begins at conception.

As soon as the egg becomes fertilized, you have a seperate human. You have a precious little baby made by God. Life doesn't begin when the heart starts beating or when the brain is developed.

3. I believe that there are two genders.

This will get a lot of backlash, I know. God made man and woman. Adam and Eve. That is all there is to it.

4. I believe that all lives matter.

YES, I get why people are saying "Black lives matter." I really do. But in my opinion, all lives matter. Including people of color. Including unborn children. Including every single person on this planet. God made us in His own image, and no one should have to experience racism or hate.

5. I support President Trump.

He is pro-life and against abortion.

He is for a strong defense.

He is for Christianity.

He is for the police and first responders.

He is for the marriage between man and woman.

6. I believe that not all police are bad.

Just because there are a few bad apples, doesn't make them all bad. I know so many police officers who would lay down their life for someone in order to protect them.

Don't defund the police, DEFEND the police.

7. I believe that our right to bear arms should not be infringed upon.

The Second Amendment is in the Constitution to protect our right to own and carry firearms. That right should not be taken away.

Guns are never the problem, it's the people using the firearms that are.

After reading this, I hope we can still be friends and accept the fact that we have different beliefs. We can all be adults and get along.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
