Hurricane Michael left absolute devastation in the Florida Panhandle this October. Just because you've forgotten about the storm doesn't mean others can. Most individuals and families who had to evacuate their homes won't be able to return for months, if not years. Cities such as Mexico Beach, Chipley, and Blountstown were destroyed or even wiped off the map and do not have the money to rebuild.
Instead of buying countless toys your child doesn't need, consider donating any amount to help these families. Even $20 will go a long way in helping them try to return to a normal life. All they want for Christmas is their house back. Most of them have lost everything, including their sentimental Christmas decorations. You don't realize how much something means to you until it's gone.
The area of Florida destroyed by Hurricane Michael is loved by many, and most plan to return as soon as they can. Unfortunately right now many are with family for an extended time, living in a hotel, or renting an apartment by the month. There are many charities who are continuing to help these victims. Please consider donating money, a gift, or supplies this holiday season. Here are just a few of the many organizations you can include in your giving this holiday season.
