The speed and size at which Odyssey is growing shows a company that refuses to quit. With over 1,000 local communities and 14,000 unique Content Creators, the social content platform has reached great heights. And with that many communities, Content Creators, and Assistant Managing Editors, someone has to make sure things are running smoothly, right? That's where the Managing Editors of Odyssey come into play. The unsung heroes of Odyssey, the people whose names you may never learn, and those that you will likely never see are the reason that every word, every sentence, and every piece of content is contributing to conversations around the world. Here's to those people who make our thoughts come to life and make Content Creators' wildest dreams come true.

What pushes you to continue to grow and never remain stagnant?

"Without change there is no progression or growth. Becoming stagnant in any situation is a sign to me that i need a change since I am no longer learning. I have to constantly be able to challenge myself in order to grow and learn." -Emily Goldblum

What is the most important piece of advice you have ever received?

"The most important piece of advice I have ever received is from my dad: be humble. It's simultaneously so simple and so complex, because on the surface it seems very straightforward, but depending on the situations you'll find yourself in through different walks of life, it can become very difficult to follow. Slighted by someone you had a crush on? Hard to stay humble when your ego's been bruised. Stuck in a dead-end job that doesn't value you or provide any growth? It's much easier to get bitter than it is to be humble and appreciate the good aspects of where you are.

This also extends to when things are going great, and I'd even argue it's more important to follow that advice when you're on the upswing. If you have the job of your dreams, are madly in love with someone who feels the same way, and more money than you know what to do with, I truly believe you're setting yourself up for a huge fall if you don't acknowledge how lucky you are to have all that and don't resist the urge to shout about it to anyone who will listen.

That's not to say you should be content with the bad and diminish the good — far from it. I've just always been taught that being humble regardless of your situation will always keep your head clear and enable you to move through life with purpose. We all need balance, and that advice has been the best way for me to achieve it." -Victor Beigelman

In a world of so many likeminded individuals, how does one person or one idea stand out above the rest?

"Personally, I respond to ideas that are presented with true reason and empathy, not emphatic emotion. Research and a comprehensive knowledge of what's going on are required for me to respect that person's idea. I also gravitate to the quieter, understated voices that take more time to say the right thing rather than saying it the loudest. Maybe this is because I aspire to be this kind of person; either way, these are the people whom I find are most worth my attention.

Sadly, I think we live in a world where the loudest voices still win our attention the majority of the time. People love engaging with outrageous headlines and offensive videos, and most media outlets certainly don't frown upon it. It's still very much a reactionary landscape -- not a deliberate and thoughtful one. Luckily, the number of people working to change that are increasing (shoutout to Odyssey Content Creators) and we are building places that can facilitate that change in a big way. People are being original, vulnerable, smart and inclusive, and I genuinely believe the power of the future of media relies on these characteristics." -Alena Hall

What is your greatest struggle right now?

"The biggest struggle I'm experiencing right now is balancing my pursuit of personal aspirations with professional goals. In any job, it's a challenge to maintain a work-life balance. This is something I actively consider and work on.

With that in mind, it has always been important to me that my aspirations align with the work that I do. Since joining the company in January, I was happy to find that this is entirely possible and achievable at Odyssey. I've been able to grow as a leader with this amazing social content platform, building myself and my skill sets daily. Odyssey encourages us all to better ourselves both inside and outside the office, and for that, I feel very grateful." -Ian Callahan

Is life truly what you make of it?

"Life isn't something we choose. We are born into this world and are now given the chance to live life the way we think we should. But with any experience in life, I think you get more out of it based on what you put into it. It's all a gamble, but it's worth it. We never know when life is going to end, so we need to play our cards now because we might not get a chance to later.

Someone told me recently that we are all dying every day. And that's true. So if we don't make life what we want it to be while we have it, is it worth living at all? No one else is going to make our life for us, so we need to make it for ourselves." -Hilary Wojtowicz

What is in your opinion, "making it?"

"Making it to me means overcoming adversity. Taking chances, embracing change, thinking big picture, stepping out of your comfort zone...these are all things that are not only difficult but they literally scare the shit out of most people. Being able to face those fears and overcome them, that is "making it" to me. Don't settle for things because they are comfortable or because they are easy and less frightening. Embrace them and you will surprise yourself with what you are able to do." -Carleigh Watts

In your opinion does success define an individual?

"No. I think both success and failure teaches you about yourself. Your character is a culmination of you — not just what you've failed and succeeded at, but at how you bounced back and what you learned from it all. At the end of the day, you define who you are and your self-worth." -Alexandria Pisauro

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
