"When I was 6 years old my parents decided to move to Nicaragua to start a ministry. First we moved to Costa Rica and lived there for a year and went through language school where we learned Spanish. I'd say that changed my life a lot because speaking two languages is really convenient. While living in Nicaragua I learned a lot about patience because sometimes living in a third world is a lot different than living in the United States. I just learned a lot about patience and serving, especially seeing my parents. They set a really good example for me. They gave up everything just so could go serve other people... That really shaped who I am."
