There have been many times that some of us have drank a lot during a night out and then woke up feeling like real sh*tty the very next morning.

We all look for ways to feel better to cure us of those nasty hangovers when in all reality, we could have fully prevented it.

And no, I am not saying do not drink AT ALL to prevent getting a hangover but LIMIT how much you drink.

Yes, it is all fun and games getting drunk but it is not fun having a terrible headache and feeling sick that you can barely do anything.

Limiting yourself by pacing how much you drink throughout the night helps out a lot as you can get food to help sober you up in-between drinking. Even drinking water constantly or a whatever type of drink that is high in electrolytes in between will help flush out the alcohol from your system a lot quicker.

Even if you don't pace yourself throughout the night and keep downing drinks, do not drink a lot of those drinks as it can lead to throwing up.

You don't want to be the friend that everyone has to take care of and the one that people have to ultimately give up their night of fun to end up taking care of you.

You also should make sure that whoever you end up going out with does not go too crazy with drinking so everyone can also have their fun but help them prevent them from throwing up everywhere and also not waking up the next day feeling like sh*t.

With all that being said, you can properly avoid a hangover if you are being a responsible drinker. Drinking is fun especially when it is new to you but at the end of the day, you need to take care of yourself and your body.

I cannot tell you the number of times I went a little too hard when I drank with friends and they had to look out for me or vice versa when I chose to be the more responsible one. Remember to be safe because you might not be too lucky to have people looking out for you. Hangovers are no fun, so do your best to avoid them!

Cheers!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
