There are a lot of people in your life right now, and a lot of them will confuse the hell out of you. A lot of them won’t like you very much, and a lot of them will like you too much. But then there will be a couple people who are a perfect balance for you, and you should not look past these kinds of people.

There will be the first. There’s always a first. If you’re lucky enough to hit gold on your first and never love anyone else that much, then I give you a round of applause. I was not that lucky, and most of us now can’t stand the thought of our first being our last. There will probably be a few in the middle that maybe won’t mean as much to us as we thought they did, and that’s okay. You weren’t their right person either, and you both helped each other turn down the right road to find someone new—someone that was meant for you.

You might think I’m going to say there’s a guy who will make your heart pound out of your chest, and will make your butterflies swarm around in your tummy—and there will be. And he is not the one. Yes, at first, anyone who is attractive to you will give you butterflies and make you kind of nervous, that’s expected. But the boy who is intended for you will not give you those every time. The boy that will love you forever will make you feel safe, not nervous. He will calm your stomach after a long day of stress. He’ll know exactly how to make you nervous at the right times—it’s called balance.

You’ll fall in love with him so hard you’ll think there’s no way this could possibly be for me. There’s no way everything could fall into place like this. There’s this song I like to think of when this came to mind for me: “bless the broken road” by Rascal Flatts. It explains finding the perfect person, well, perfectly.

Dating is never an easy thing, and especially for me, it never came easily to me. But finding the person for me was honestly the easiest thing that I’ve ever done.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
