How You Know You've Met Your Non-Sexual Soulmate

How you know you’ve met your non-sexual soulmate:

“Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with.”

—Candace Bushnell, Sex and the City

1. They just understand

Whether you’re too drunk to form actual sentences or you’re crying on the floor because the world is hard and unfair, they know what you’re trying to say. Usually it's that you love them.

2. You never get bored of talking to each other

Let’s talk about nothing and everything. Every topic is interesting if they’re the one you’re having it with.

3. Their success is your success

In such a competitive world, we all get jealous of other’s successes especially when you’re not doing so hot. But not with this person. You love them so much, their wins are your wins, their losses are your losses. You only want the best for him or her.

4. Honest advice is always a text message away

Even if the truth hurts, it never feels quite as harsh coming from them. You know it’s always said out of love.

5. Distance is never a factor

True friendship has no limit. This is the age of technology people! FaceTime is a thing!

6. You trust them with your ugly SnapChats

Mostly because you have worse ones saved to your phone.

7. They know the password to your phone

Honestly, it was too much of a hassle to keep opening it for them. You don’t have secrets to hide and they’ve already seen you naked anyway.

8. You know each other’s families

“I wonder how my mom’s doing.” “Oh, Jan’s fine. Your dad’s back has been acting up again. They send their love.”

9. They’re always there when you need them

It’s the person you call crying at 12 am after a breakup. The person that runs across campus in sweats to lay on the floor with you. The person you cancel plans for.

10. You can tell them anything

Literally, from heartbreak to bowel movements, they’re your go-to. “But is it supposed to be that color?!”

11. They’re the first person you want to tell something to

Good news, bad news, no news, new news, they’re the first person you want to tell. They'll make this face if it's really juicy:

12. You own something of theirs because it’s a comfort

“Is that my sweatshirt?” “Yes it gives me hugs when you can’t and smells like your hair. I’m not giving it back.” “Fine, but I’m taking yours.” “Fair.”

13. Everything else takes a backseat when they need you

Fourteen-page essay due tomorrow? Sorry, Professor she’s going through a tough time so you’re gonna have to wait. Class can chill, she needs to go for a drive to get cake pops and iced coffee because she’s having a hard time. Mental health day.

14. You can do anything together and it’s fun

Let’s sit in bed and watch My 600 Pound Life or just write an essay in the same room. You’re who I wanna be with... Or like, hold each others' boobs because sometimes THEY HURT.

15. They’re in all your future plans

Your kids are gonna call them Aunt/Uncle. They’re in your Pinterest wedding board. So it’s kind of a forever thing.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:
