You Know You're A Texan When
Megan L Powers

As some people know, I was not born in Texas, but I came as fast as I could. I have spent the majority of my life except for those first few months in Texas and what that means is technically I was born in Arizona but I would consider myself to be Texan. There are many reasons that can confirm Texas' adoption of you.

1. You have officially began to use the world "y'all" no you cannot say "you guys" (shoutout to my northern roommate) that is not and I repeat not a thing. People say "y'all" which is simply you+all. Gotta love the slang. If you start using that you are well on your way.

2. If you live in most cities in Texas, dress is most likely big tshirts and shorts. Anything else is just way to dressy.

3. You absolutely love iced tea. Most people drink sweet tea cause that is a definite southern thing and actually a real reason people decide to come to Texas.

4. Tex-Mex. that is a real living breathing type of food and if you don't believe it then you better check yourself and then proceed to run as fast as possible to your nearest Tex-Mex restaurant {because that is an absolute necessity of life of a Texan}.

5. Monograms and preppy tshirts are also a pretty popular thing; people love all those Comfort Colors Tees and all that Summer Proper.

6. Barbecue Food is an absolute must and there is nothing like real Texas BBQ with real homemade barbecue sauce. {btw if you are ever in Waco or go to Baylor and haven't been to Viteks - you are missing out on life}

7. Country dancing and two stepping are a definite thing too, and whether your good, bad, or just plain horrible; fun is still to be had.

8. Homecoming. If you went to high school in Texas then ya know homecoming is a major big deal. Mums are literally the size of Texas (and mums by the way are the decorative flowers that are giant that Texas girls wear at homecoming season).

9. Friday Night Lights. There is no kinda football like that, in Texas towns it is the event of the week where every single person comes together as a community, watching football and enjoying that time together.

These are only a few ways you know that you have been officially accepted to Texas and the world of y'all. Once your there, you'll never want to leave.

P.S. Not all Texas own cowboy boots and ride horses. Even though I may have....

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
