How You Know You're A Jersey Girl

Hearing the word Jersey sometimes gets people thinking of the show "The Jersey Shore," or the "Real House Wives of New Jersey." Well I can promise you that this article isn't about how to become a "guidett" or how to figure out what GTL means. This article is for the true Jersey girls out there, this read is all about the things we love in Jersey. So check out this list and see if you a true Jersey girl!

Eating Jersey bagels like no other:

Our bagels here in NJ are to DIE FOR, they are truly the best. Whether it's a bagel with butter or cream cheese, our bagels are the best because they're so plump and fluffy. Our bagels are never like the store bought ones, they're flavorful and delicious! Just writing this makes me want me want a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. As a Jersey Girl we can't live without our bagels, they make everything better and our the perfect breakfast food.

Terrible road rage, especially to out of state drivers:

Driving in Jersey can be a battle field; the Parkway, Jersey TurnPike and all those other highways can be an absolute nightmare. That means your road rage is bound to come out and be uncontrollable sometimes. Everyone always tells you: "OMG why are you screaming! It's OK! Calm down!" Us ladies can't control our rage sometimes to the idiotic out of state drivers and sometimes the New Jersey drivers can be terrible! Sorry in advanced to my passengers who have to deal with my yelling, I just can't help it. Guess it's a Jersey thing.

Constantly wishing we were at the Jersey Shore:

Us girls always wish we were on the beaches at the Jersey Shore, tanning and soaking up the sun. We look forward to the beautiful summer weather and laying out on the sand with our best friends. Reading a book while tanning is the best feeling ever, nobody can take away that moment of peace. Although when the weather gets colder we still have to make our way back to the shore because we miss Surf Taco so much and the cute boutiques. You know where to find me this summer: Belmar, New Jersey (also known as Jersey girl heaven).

NEVER pumping our own gas:

When you're a Jersey girl, you never have to worry about pumping your own gas! It's nice knowing you never need to get out of your car in the brutal winter or the scorching hot summer days to pump our gas. So thank you gas attendees for filling our tanks, we truly appreciate you guys for pumping our gas.

Being addicted to Jersey style pizza:

New York and Chicago may think they have the best pizza, but let's face it, New Jersey truly has the best pizza out there. Instead of wanting sushi or something fancy, you're always down for a good slice of pizza from your local pizzeria. Pizza is pure comfort food and us Jersey girls can't resist a hot slice of pizza. I have to give a shout-out to all the pizzerias in Jersey, you guys are doing a great job!

I hope you enjoyed this list, just writing it made me want some pizza, bagels and Surf Taco. Being a Jersey girl is a great thing, but living in this amazing state is a privilege. I love NJ with all my heart and I'm so fortunate to live here and be a part of such a great state. Nobody will ever take the Jersey out of this girl.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
