How You Know When Your Friends Are Family

There is a distinct difference between friends and best friends, but after a while best friends turn into more. Once you have been through hell and back, or just survived the torrent of high school drama together, you're more than best friends. Here are a few signs that your best friends are actually your siblings.

You walk into their houses instead of knocking

You know the code to their garage

They always defend you even when you're wrong

But they won't let you forget that you were wrong

You not only borrow their clothes, but also their mom's

Or their dad posts pictures of you on facebook with the caption "my daughters"

They drive insane distances for you, like visiting your college

Sharing the same bed is a given

Cuddling is also never unexpected

You have more bad pictures of them than good ones

You absolutely berate each other on social media, in person, and through text

They know how to make you laugh in seconds

And know when to let you cry and when to tell you to stop moping

Your conversations are filled with memes and facebook links

Their food is your food to nibble on

When you're over their house you don't feel weird asking for food

You probably just grab a snack from the cabinets without asking too

You. Share. EVERYTHING. Lipstick, clothes, shoes, phone chargers, jewelry.

Your favorite nights are ones filled with heaps of Chinese food and awful Netflix flicks.

Of course you also watch the same shows together

They'll let you know when you look awful, and know exactly what you should change into

A majority of the stories you tell have them in it

The "are you looking cute or dead?" text is answered with dead 90% of the time thankfully

They go completely out of their way to help and support you whenever they can

They're your #1 fan through it all

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
