How I Would Change The World

How would you change the world if you could do anything you wanted?

I was once asked the question: "If you could do anything to change the world, what would you do?" To be honest, I think I would change people's outlooks on their own lives. I truly believe that we have the ability to make this life whatever we want it to be regardless of the hands we are dealt. Personally, I think I have been through a lot of bad times, but it's always been my attitude that has made all the bad times better and life worth living. I recently lost my single mother to metastatic breast cancer after ten years of severe struggling. My brother and I have struggled in many aspects of our lives, but my brother and I have always found some way to pull through and find the best in every bad situation. I want to pass this on. I believe that everyone is in control of their own lives even though life may be chaotic, unpredictable, and difficult. We can still choose to smile at the small things EVERY day. Happiness is a choice but it must be a cautious one. We need to make an effort to be happy and grateful each and every day.

If I could do one thing to change the world it would be to show people to appreciate the life they live. Enjoy the little things that make them happy whether that be a song, a passing hello, or a talk with an old friend over coffee. We all have something good in or lives but in order to see and appreciate that we must focus our energy and attention on the good instead of the bad. Life is a crazy ride and I believe we are all lucky to take part in it.

If I could change one thing in the world it would be for people to genuinely, whole-heartedly be happy--happy with their good days and their bad days, their healthy days and their sick days. Life isn't always fair and sometimes it can bring you down a really dark path, but we have the ability to make a change in not only our own lives but the lives of others. Together we can change the stigma that a hard life is a bad life. I guess you could say that is the start of fulfilling my desire to change the world.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
