Job stress can have negative impacts on the physical and mental health of workers, but there are many ways you can cope and manage your stress at work.
Here are some tips to coping with workplace stress:
Identify your stressors.
Every day, write down what was bothering you about work that day. Was it an issue with your boss? Set up a meeting and tell your boss you're unhappy at work and sort out the problem. Was it an issue with your coworkers? Be direct and talk to them. Whatever is causing you stress, you need to talk to someone at work about and handle the issue as soon as it arises. Workplaces stress occurs when you don't handle the situation immediately and let all your problems build up.
Take care of your body.
Make sure you are getting good rest, eating healthy, and getting good exercise. When you're at work, take a walk at lunch to not only get in shape but to blow off steam. Out with the bad, in with the good.
Find motivation.
Remind yourself why you first took the job and what you loved about it. Find some motivation to thrive and be successful in your job.
Improve your time management skills.
Set realistic goals for yourself and make a priority list. Do one thing at a time. That's all you can do in life. Don't focus on more than one thing at a time. Put all of your time and energy into each task and then move on to the next once it is completed.
Take a break.
Of course, you're feeling stressed at work if you're ALWAYS working. You need some time for yourself to relax and not think about work. Keep all of your troubles in the office. Don't bring them home. You want to avoid burnout at all costs, so make sure you are going on vacation or enjoying some lazy weekends; watching movies and sleeping all day.
