How Wattpad Changed My Life

For those who don't know: Wattpad is an amazing writing community, where you can write your own stories and read other people's works or just read. I do both.

I discovered Wattpad three years ago when I noticed my friend reading on it, so she told me about it and I decided to give it a shot. Back then, I was under a different account than I have today (http://wattpad.com/missfashionistaa). At first, I only read. Then, I published my first fanfiction -- a Glee one. As timed passed by, I published and deleted stories. September of 2013 I created a new account because I got a phone and I didn't know my password. I started writing romance and teen fiction. With my new account, I really grew. My first draft of my romance novel, "Our Twisted Love," didn't get much success as the second draft. I had to rewrite it because I wasn't happy with it. More books were published -- some kept, others deleted. My followers grew. Numbers aren't important as long as you're doing what you love, but seeing votes and comments make my day.

It's hard being on hiatus because I love that app so much. I met great people there. There are so many excellent authors who deserve so much more recognition. When I'm on my Wattpad, it's like I'm in my own little world. There are threads where people authors or readers can just talk about anything. There are threads where you can talk about your favorite things -- books, shows, etc. -- and threads for improving your writing, or making covers, banners, etc for your novel. It's hard putting into words, but it's truly an amazing community. If you love writing, you should consider being part of Wattpad.

It changed my life because I love being a mystery to people, but I can also be myself. In real life, I'm so shy and introverted in many things. On Wattpad, I can share my stories which I can't share with just anybody in real life.

I won't ever regret joining Wattpad.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
