take your sorrows and secrets from a cavern in your chest
dress it up for the readings from the future masses
make it seem less bad than it actually is
writing poetry is liking tripping and falling on your face
and looking good while doing it
take the ugly mascara-filled tears
and replace it with all your graceful sobs
before you send it off
go and fix up the stanzas
replace all the words about the voices in your head
with the colors of all the flower petals that you see when you go outside
break up the lines so that one can breathe as they journey down the page
there is much less being said
before you double every line break
give it to the person who inspired it all
they will be flattered such sad poems are about them
