Start the winter season off by trying some festive activates with your significant other. Take them on a romantic date around town or even make a stay at home dinner a special event. The holidays are about spending time with family and your love ones, and creating precious moments and memories that will last a life time. Here are some ideas for you and your love one to share together during this Christmas season

1. Pick out a Christmas tree and decorate it and go ice skating.

Here is a date that can be easy, but romantic at the same time. First ,you two go ice skating at a local ice rink. Drink hot coco and listen to Christmas music, hold hands and pray that you guys don’t fall on the ice. After ice skating go to a Christmas tree farm and pick out a small tree. This will bring you closer than ever by sharing an intimate moment together. Side note get an ornament that sets your first christmas together.

2. Stay for a weekend at a bed and breakfast.

Get away for a weekend together for some alone time. Escape to a little bed and breakfast or just a simple hotel. Try to find a place that you guys have never been too and go there. That way you can explore the city like; the local bars, restaurants, landscapes, or just have a stroll through the city at night. I’m sure the city will be decorated with lights and Christmas decorations. The best city for this little getaway is Greenville, South Carolina! Tons of restaurants and bars. Enjoy live bands while walking the streets and you can hit up a coffee shop for something warm.

3. Stay-at-home date.

Stay-at-home date can be filled with adventures and crazy fun! This date is mainly for the guy to put together for his girl. First, what you have to do is cook her a four course meal. Take her around the world with just one dinner. Start off with an appetizer from Italy (hint breadsticks!), then try different cuisines from countries around the world. After dinner slip into some PJ’s and build a pillow fort have a pajama party. Make sure you have a pillow fight. The first one to loose will have to make breakfast. Bring out her inner child and recreate her childhood memories right in your living room. Don’t forget to play games like charades, puzzles, video games and Candy Land!

4. Pick apples at a local apple orchid and have a picnic in the park.

Go for a ride to an orchid and pick apples. Enjoy each other’s company and time together. Right now, it is around fall / winter so the leaves are falling and the air is crisp and clean. Sit by a fire pit and cuddle up and make hot coco and s’mores. You can also have a picnic at a local park. Grab a blanket, some music and watch your surroundings. Notice the little things in life together

5. Go to the bar and watch a game.

There is a time to be all sentimental, but on this date it's not that time. Grab a couple of friends and go the local bar and grill and order a burger or a basket of all you can eat wings. Chow down on those hot wings while drinking a beer and enjoy a football game. Let your man enjoy his time to cut loose and be a guy. The night doesn’t have to end when the game is over, you can go find an arcade and kick his butt in Mario Kart Racing. Then, let him win you a stuffed animal, that way his pride isn’t hurt.

Just have fun with each other and make this christmas and new year an one to remember!!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Bucket List To Live In The Now

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
