15 Tips To A Better Life

If I could choose any power in the world I would have to choose super strength. Mental super strength. No matter what tools you have, or gifts you've been given, when facing life it always comes down to mental diligence. The mind is a powerful thing and a positive attitude can be the difference between failure and success. Being mentally strong can be the difference between being easily overwhelmed or intimidated by your struggles versus being happy and taking your hits with a good sense of humor. Considering the amount of uncertainty in life that's inevitable for the next generations, mental strength is a necessity for navigating life and keeping your head held high.

While there are probably millions of articles and Pinterest posts, I've condensed the best tips into 15 ways for achieving mental strength.

1. Focus on the now.

Don’t waste your yourself energy on things that already happened. You can’t change the past and that’s okay.

2. Embrace change.

Welcome new challenges and flex that mental muscle. You have more power than you think! Just put your mind to it.

3. Work hard for what you want.

Come to terms with the following fact: the world owes you nothing! After coming to terms with that, push yourself, you'll be invincible.

4. Be productive.

Replace those negative, pity thoughts with productive ones. Focus on how you can move forward and take yourself to the next level. Always keep fighting to reach your goals.

5. Save your mental energy.

There’s no need to waste time on negative thoughts or negative people. Let them do them, and you keep doing you. Be too busy busting down barriers to worry about those who just want to bring you down.

6. Be willing to fail.

Failure is never a bad thing. When you fail, you learn, and in order to succeed you have to learn what works well for you and what doesn’t. Don’t beat yourself up and be thankful you're one step closer to your goal.

7. Let it go, and move on.

Don’t waste your time feeling sorry for yourself. We all fall into this trap, even though it seems self explanatory. Let go of all your regrets right now.

8. Push through the discomfort.

With any goal there will always be tough tasks, experiences, or challenges. Just because it is hard or uncomfortable, that is no reason to give up. Tolerate the hard times, and in the end you persevere.

9. Have patience.

A bit self explanatory, but one of the most important things to remember: be patient. As hard as you work on anything in life, the reward usually isn't instantaneous. Keep your goals in mind, and ready yourself for the long haul. The reward is worth it. You’re worth it.

10. Embrace who you are.

Everyone is unique and different. This includes all things: flaws, positive attributes, personality and personal limits. Know your own, and accept them. Accept and love yourself, so that you can learn your own ways to cope and push through to reach your goals.

11. Forget the haters!

Forget the haters, the negatives, and the people who want to bring you down or see you fail. Don't give them the energy or attention. You are so much better than that.

12. Enjoy your alone time.

You rock! Remember that. As fun as it is to be with friends, learn how to be with yourself. Take time and don’t be afraid when you have to go through something alone. You are strong enough to handle anything. I believe in you, but more importantly, believe in yourself!

13. Remember to reward your progress.

Reflecting on all you’ve accomplished is immensely important. You deserve to pat yourself on the back for every single goal you take down. Hard work can be uncomfortable and it takes perseverance. Only a mentally strong individual can be that awesome. Reward yourself.

14. Think positively.

In any situation, you have two options: focus on the good or focus on the bad. When you focus on the good, you are sending that positive energy into the universe and positive energy will return to you. Thinking positively is setting yourself up for success.

15. Stay happy!

Happy is a word with different definitions for every unique individual. In terms of feeling good, be okay with yourself and embrace life. Stay happy and keep smiling.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September.
