How To Thrive With All This Time You Have Now

It seems we're all in the same boat of figuring out what to do what all of this time we now have. Classes have been moved to online; we can't go and hang out with our friends for awhile and this whole "social distancing" movement has created much more anxiety for people. So, how do we get through this?

First, acknowledge that it's only temporary. This isn't forever and that in itself should give you hope. It should boost some motivation to do the things you've wanted to get done, but haven't had the time to. We'll all return to our jobs and daily grinds shortly, but this is the time to figure out a game plan and start those projects at home. This is exciting stuff! For me, I've already finished two books that I've had for years and haven't gotten around to reading. I've taken up crafting and have started to learn break dancing. I've also been learning how to play the banjo. Honestly, my days are pretty jam packed with the things I've put on the back burner because they weren't priorities. Well, now's my time to do it, and yours to! What have you been wanting to do but could never find time? What podcast did you put off for so long? What home fitness class have you been wanting to try?

We're never going to have as much time as we do now! Instead of wishing it away, find a way to make it productive. Time to get creative. Work outside, watch a show guilt free, learn a new skill. There is an infinite amount of things you can learn or do. Try one today. And remember to take it one day at a time. We are all in this together and now, more than ever, is the time to connect with people on a deeper level. Who says you can't do that through a screen? We got this!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
