When it comes to leaving a legacy and working to make the world a better place, one of the best careers is in education. Educating the next generation of students will have a massive impact on tomorrow’s generation. There are so many different approaches that you can take as well, which works to really open up your career. If you are passionate about teaching a certain subject, then you have your go-to career path. If you want to improve education as a whole, then you can work in an education development or leadership.

You may even want to help those that have historically and consistently been let down, like those with special or specific education requirements. Regardless of what path is right for you, this guide will help you not just work in education, but to thrive in education.

Specialize in Your Specific Interests and Passions

Everyone works better when they immerse themselves in what they are passionate about or interested in. If you absolutely love a certain subject, then don’t teach an entire grade and instead direct your career so that you can teach that subject to kids of various ages. If you want to help give equal education options to those with special learning needs, then specialize today with a special education degree.

This will help improve your career and (more importantly)will make every day more interesting and more fulfilling.

Keep Your Career Options Open

One of the biggest crises of today is teacher burnout. While it is up to policy makers and organizations to tackle this systemic issue, teachers today must also work to protect themselves from that burnout. One of the best ways to do that is to know when to take a step back. You always have options within education. If you cannot work in a public institution any longer, consider transitioning your career to the private sector or into research and development instead. Knowing where you can take your career can help ensure that you always make the best decision for your health and wellbeing.

Set Boundaries for Yourself

Educating children is a privilege. Not only do you have a special position in their lives, they have a special place in your heart. It is natural to care for the kids that you care for, but you can put too much of yourself into each child and end up burning out. It may be frustrating when a child’s parents don’t support their potential. It can be upsetting when you find out that one of your students is being bullied or don’t have a good home life.

While you can and should help, you cannot give all of yourself. Instead pass on the biggest issues to professionals equipped to handle them and focus on your job. This will allow you to enjoy your job more and help you better protect your own mental health and wellbeing.

Continue to Learn and Progress

Everyone should continue to learn. In order to keep your career options open you owe it to yourself to continue to train and develop your skills. There are so many different options out there and you would be surprised at how often your school or employer will be happy to sponsor you so you can go and learn without paying out of pocket.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.
