If you do any of the following without even realizing it you definitely have #NoFilter:
You constantly get weird looks from people when you talk.
The "I can't believe what just came out of her mouth" face always looks familiar to you. People give you weird looks all the time when you talk. They will walk away from a conversation with you, with a look of disbelief. You learn to just not think anything of it.
You constantly find yourself offending someone … unintentionally of course.:
You are the type of person to ask a woman how far along she is when she is not even pregnant. You have a way of bringing up a person’s past without even trying to ... leading to a whole lot of bad blood in a conversation. Then you will find yourself doing a whole lot of apologizing to end the conversation.
People think you are rude or mean ... especially over text.
Since you are known for offending people with your words, you have developed the bad rep of being rude or mean. No one wants to talk to the mean girl, never mind get a text from her! Your texts, blogs, tweets, Instagram captions and Facebook posts of course do not use a filter either. It is hard enough to detect emotion from a text in general, imagine when it comes from someone with no filter. Of course people are going to think you are being so rude.
No one knows if you are serious or joking.
Well, they are going to hope you are joking when you tell them the story of that one time you were too drunk in the back of a cab ... or that time you flushed your retainer down the toilet. No one knows when to take you seriously.
First dates and job interviews are a no for you.
Basically for the reasons listed above, when you are in an uncomfortable situation you especially have a lack of a filter. You think these uncomfortable situations are a good time for you to open up about your embarrassing life stories ... it's not. People then begin to think you are weird because you are way too open about your personal life. Sharing way too much too quick just leaves you without that job and no second date.
You have no concept of what it means to think before you speak.
This would be why you lack a filter. You do not think and just say whatever. Why waste valuable time thinking about what you are going to say? The best words come from the heart, and the heart does not think about what it is going to say. Speak whatever you would like. Filters are overrated, right? There really is just no need for one.
