Life is filled with amazing opportunities, daring adventures, and everlasting days of exciting journeys. With so many potentially inspiring experiences planned for the future, it is important to consider how to treasure every last moment and how to be present when it truly matters.

1. Interact with your surroundings.

The world is a very expansive place and unexpected beauty can be found around every corner. When taking a hike on a lush nature trail or walking along the shore of a beach, take a moment to examine the intricate patterns on the leaves of a tree, or dig your toes deeper into the sand. An environment is enjoyed to the fullest when all senses are engaged, which makes the memories of beautiful places so much richer.

2. Disconnect from distractions.

Cell phones, a wandering mind, or even a prolonged conversation all have the capacity to draw attention away from magical moments. It is best to find a balance between the factors that enhance colorful experiences and those that dull them.

For example, taking a break from a long conversation to pause and listen to the surrounding noises will ensure that the mind remains grounded in the present. This way, when the conversation is continued, both parties will be refreshed and the words exchanged will be even more profound

3. Be humble.

The Earth is a shared entity between humans, plants, animals, and many other forms of life that all depend on one another. It is equally as important to respect places, wildlife, and moments of time in the same way that respect is shared between humans.

Once this level of compassion is achieved, the heart is much more capable of expressing love and appreciation, and moments that are special can be cherished as beautiful memories forever.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
