Family time can be enjoyable and stressful all wrapped up into one, especially when you include the extended family like your Great Uncle Larry who tells awful jokes. It can get even more painful to endure when it is family vacation away. If you haven't already seen Chevy Chase in all his shenanigans with his crazy family more or less that is how all vacations can go when it is with the family. While family vacations can contain some stress behind it there are some ways to still have a blast while with family this summer.

Always Remember Patience is Key

Say you are sitting in the back of the car on a family road trip in the middle of nowhere and your little brother decides to make the most annoying noise possible and you start to lose your cool. Then you snap and smack him on the head. He proceeds to start crying and playing the youngest card. At this point the car is a ticking bomb ready to explode and you are in the line of fire. In that moment it probably was better to ignore him or cope some other way because now dad is turning a bright shade of red and you have nowhere to hide. Of course family knows exactly which buttons to press to get you to lose it and because of that it is good to practice patience. This is easier said than done a lot of the time, but if you take deep breaths or take five minutes to listen to a favorite song of yours or even watch an adorable baby sloth squeak it could save a lot of headache.

Sometimes Taking Time for Yourself is Necessary

Your mom may say that you have to spend time with family all time during the vacation, but let's be honest it can be difficult. So whenever you get a chance find a way to be alone. Take a walk, listen to music, read a book or even take a nap. Any way to take a quick breather from the family can help you enjoy the time you are with them.

Come up with Fun Activities to do with the Family

Playing the same card game or not leaving the place you're staying at can become boring very fast. So to keep the fun and the adventure going it is always good to find out what is offered around you. Or if you haven't gotten to your destination just yet look into what is popular in the destination such as museums, hiking trails, shopping centers, springs or anything that would interest everyone in the group. Because keeping everyone happy and having a good time is important.

Most Importantly Embrace the Time you have with your Family

Always remember that family is always there for you. With that remember to enjoy all the time you have with them while they are around. Make memories and have an amazing summer!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
